22   Amanda Fitzgerald   Senior 5'4" Point Guard
Coach's comments on Fitz:
Amanda begins her senior year as a 4th year varsity starter. As a Freshman, she worked her way into a starting job during league play. She was the third leading scorer on the 1997-98 section semifinalist team that went 26-5. Last season, she was the 2nd leading scorer behind the Lady Herd's all-time career scoring leader, Sabrina Briggs. She enters the year at number four on the all-time Lady Herd scoring list. This year, Amanda will be an important part as the team continues to rebuild. She brings experience, leadership, and high intensity to the court. Amanda is a contender for All-League and All-Metro consideration.

43 Erin Wathen Senior 6'0" Guard
Coach's comments on Erin:
Erin makes the move from a Forward to a Guard spot her senior year. Her improved out-side shooting and passing ability makes her a threat as a shooter and penetrator. At 6'0", she will be able to shoot over smaller players and can beat true post players off the dribble. Erin is a 4th year varsity team member and is coming off her best campaign last year. Her experience helped lead last year's young team through perhaps the most difficult schedule in the section.

32 Lynsey Harp Senior 5'6" Guard
Coach's comments on Harp:
After two seasons on the Lady Herd Junior Varsity team, where as a sophomore she won Best Offensive Player honors after scoring 200 points, Harp earned a starting spot on last year's varsity team. A deadly three-point shooter, she had a career game against Davis scoring 20 points including 6 threes which places her second to Sabrina Briggs' 7 in the record books in three-pointers made in one game. This year's team will look to Lynsey to nail threes and get to the free-throw line. Her improved defense and leadership will be a great asset.

23 Kim Parker Senior 6'3" Center
Coach's comments on Parker:
Kim is the team's most athletic and quickest player. At 6'3", she can dominate the key by controlling the boards and scoring inside. She has become a consistent free throw shooter this season. A newcomer to basketball, Kim only played half of last season but has developed skills that allow us to fast break and disrupt opponents' inside game.

45 Krista Jensen Senior 6'0" Center
Coach's comments on Krista:
Krista is another player to play through the Freshman and Junior Varsity teams. As a sophomore on the JV team, she showed such rapid progress that she was elevated at mid-season to the varsity team. Last season, she was the starting center where she scored, rebounded and played defense better than any of her previous seasons. She finished the season shooting 65% from the foul line placing her 5th all-time in EG history. Krista will be a major factor in the team's success this season due to her ability to rebound, pass and score.

55 Maren Winterrowd Junior 5'11" Forward/Guard
Coach's comments on Maren:
Her freshman year, Maren started on the Lady Herd Junior Varsity team where she played post. Last year, due to her huge improvement over the summer, she was elevated to the varsity team. She began the year as a starter and earned All-Tournament honors at the Cartwright Classic in Elk Grove. She is very athletic and runs the floor well. Maren can guard perimeter or post players as she is strong and intelligent on defense.

5 Melissa Painter Sophmore 5'7" Guard
Coach's comments on Melissa:
Melissa is a gifted athlete who showed so much promise this summer that she was elevated to varsity after playing at the Freshman level last year. She has become a better perimeter shooter and is strong on the boards. She adds a physical presence at the guard spot. Last season, she led the Freshman team in scoring and was the team MVP.

10 Corey Cox Junior 5'5" Guard
Coach's comments on CoCo:
Corey is our team's best rebounding guard. She plays taller then her height because of her superior strength and leaping ability. Corey has moved to varsity after two successful seasons on the Junior Varsity team were she was 3rd on the team in rebounding and 4th in scoring.

11 Jenny Fong Junior 5'4" Guard
Coach's comments on Jenny:
If the team needs a three-pointer or someone to change the tempo of the game, we will look to Jenny. She is known as the "Energizer Bunny" because she never stops moving on the court or off. She has a knack of getting inside and scoring over and around larger players.

13 Kari Busath Junior 5'5" Guard
Coach's comments on Kari:
Kari is perhaps the program's most fundamental player. She has excellent court sense and the best mid-range jumper on the varsity squad. She will be called upon to be the back-up point guard and a scoring threat this year. She finished last season as a second year JV player, 2nd in scoring, assists, and field goal percentage.

21 Lindsay Justice Senior 5'5" Guard
Coach's comments on Justice:
Justice returns to basketball after missing last year. She represents the dedication needed to be successful in basketball. She is one of the team's hardest workers and is always willing to do whatever needs to be done for the good of the team.

24 Christina Ross Junior 6'2" Center
Coach's comments on Ross:
Also a two-year JV player, Ross enjoyed her best season last year, starting every game. She is a tremendous shot blocker and defensive player. She showed tremendous growth over the summer. Last season she was the JV team's third leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder.

31 Stefanie Ures Junior 5'5" Guard
Coach's comments on Stefanie:
If there is a need for a defensive stop, Stefanie will get the call. She is a terrific athlete who is laterally quick and aggressive on the boards. Stefanie has a high level of competitive spirit and will be an important contributor to this year's team.

42 Lindsay Cathcart Junior 6'1" Center
Coach's comments on Lindsay:
Lindsay is coming off her finest season of basketball. Last year as the JV team's starting center and team MVP, she led the team in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage. She is strong around the basket and we are looking for her to step up this year and continue where she left off last year. Her positive attitude and dedication make her valuable to this team.
